The upside of procrastination

Fire Starter,

Procrastinating is easy, that’s a fact.

Even type-A personalities and wildly productive grown-ups put things off. But what we might critique as procrastination can actually be a misdiagnosis for instinct.

One of the effects of living in a hyper-productive society is that intuitive resistance can get labeled as procrastination. But what seems like avoidance may be a deeper inkling of wrong timing.

Hesitation can be a form of wisdom. Motives become clearer; new information shows up; your plans feel less compressed.

Amazing grace can happen when you choose inner rhythms over external pressure.

For your reflection…

  • What are you putting off? Make a list, from the micro to macro.
  • What patterns do you see? Trust your heart.
  • What tasks can you delegate?
  • What should go on your Stop Doing List?

It’s worth considering: you may be procrastinating for divine reasons.

Always with Love,
Danielle
